Testimony

Filed in: Uncategorized by on 07-21-09

faithMy experience with God happens within my lifetime. It happens only once, to me. God has put me here, in this place and time, in order to tell others about what He has done and is doing in my life. As a Christian, do you really grasp this? Whatever you’re going through, whether it’s joyful or painful, is allowed into your life by a loving God, whose goal for you is to become like His Son, Jesus Christ.Because God wants to transform you, He allowed your life to follow the path it did before you became a believer in order that you would recognize His work at some point along the way. Now, seeing it, you are responsible to tell others what He has done. That is your Christian testimony! Maybe you’ve been a Christian for an hour, a day, or for years. What is He doing in your life now? That is your Christian testimony. You are an eyewitness to the works of Jesus Christ in your life.

Hi, In this page I will feature true life stories, experiences and testimonies which brothers and sisters would like to share. So Start motivating and encourage one another by sending in your testimony. Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. ( Hebrews 11:6)

I promise

A Promise Fulfilled
by Joyce C

As young people often tend to feel invincible, my daughter would be employed two and three places at a time. Being born flat-footed, her feet didn’t always cooperate.

In time, x-rays proved her bones had actually moved to where they were laying side by side (instead of on top of each other). Additionally, there were bone spurs.

Joints throughout her body would swell, and doctors had failed in diagnosing it. Shoes often created too much pain to wear. Medical tests required funds that were otherwise needed.

Becoming a common thing for her to run to the basement to put clothes into the dryer, only to find her sitting at the bottom of the basement steps crying (not being able to climb back up the stairs), we began to supply a wheel chair for outings.

Having no insurance and two young boys to provide for (not being able to take 6 mos. off work), God would provide her with feet just long enough to finish a shift.
Though having been a person with a heart for the needs of others, she was never able to manage her own spiritual walk.
Finally realizing God had allowed this to physically happen, so we’d realize her spiritual condition was an infirmity, I began to research scripture.
If two shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Mt.18:19

The verse God gave us was this …

“Make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.” He.12:13

Receiving that verse as God’s instruction to teach the straight gate, she then began to walk both spiritually & physically.

Setting out to fulfill the required condition, we focused on listening for God and receiving His every next step of instruction – to not follow the laws in ink, but seeking to know God’s heart.

Already knowing she had the gift of prophecy, her abilities became more refined. As long as her focus was on God, she’d continue improving. Seeking God with your whole heart, He reveals himself to you. Je.29:13 A few months into this journey, and she began experiencing God in newfound ways.

The following months were so exciting, she could hardly put God’s Word down! She’d say, “Oh, this is so neat! I have to tell you what I found! I finally understand this!” … as the phone would ring all hours of the night (being about to burst just to tell the wonderful truths of God).

From the day God began revealing Himself, she’s had no desire to turn back … and has had to separate from whomever would hold her to the Biblical laws (as both physical and spiritual conditions otherwise begin deteriorating).

There’s no medical explanation as to how it’s possible for her to walk, as surgeries were never done – or bones healed. Today, she is a walking testimony (both spiritually and literally) that you ‘can’ walk, if you keep your eyes on God. He isn’t dead. He’ll tell you when and which laws apply to accomplish His purpose.

God kept His word …

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Ch. 7:14

As the ability to stay home with her children was thereafter provided for, God even fulfilled a promise that wasn’t sought.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. Ep.3:20

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. Ja.1:6 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. I Jn. 3:22

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. I Jn.5:15

 friend

A God-Given Friend
by Linda. W

We live in a world where people long for an intimate friend who they can share their hopes, dreams, and sorrows with. I found that the Lord puts women in my life and takes them away according to His will. I had good friends whom I enjoyed sweet fellowship with. One day the Lord spoke to my heart and said, “Release your friends.” I didn’t understand why He wanted me to do that. One by one they moved away to different states. It was very emotionally difficult for me. After moving to Hawaii I didn’t have a close Christian friendship. I felt so lonely even though the people are very warm and showed me the “aloha” spirit. I prayed and the Lord blessed me with a friend. This friendship lasted two years. We drifted apart because of various things. I’m learning to lean more on the Lord Jesus Christ for friendship. He desires to be our very best friend. He puts and takes friends away due to death, moves, etc. We need to trust Him that He knows what’s best for us concerning friendships.

Molest

Abuse and molestation
by Angela

Hi,I hope that this testimony strengthens all who read. I am the oldest of seven children. I had to grow up sooner than expected as a youngster. My mother surrounded herself and her children with the wrong type of men and the wrong crowds. I say alot and knew too much. My mother’s boyfriend would molest me after he made sure my mother was strung out on drugs and asleep, completely not aware of what was going on with her olderst child. I was the only one of the children he would molest and beat, I thnk because I was fatered by another man and not him. The State finally resued my sibling and myself from a vacant house after days of being left alone, and we were placed in foster care. My grandmother was able to get me out and my aunt was able to get my sister out. However, the foster parent that was caring for my brother she moved and unlisted her telephone number. They were adopted and I am currently in the process of trying to locate them as we speak. My mother passed away in 1990 and my father passed away when I was 2 years old. My grandmother has been such a blessing to me to remove me from the bad enviorment I was placed in and instill in my the morals and values I have. I have grown up to be a intelligent young woman, mother of two, I have a bachelors degree with a double major in accounting and computer programming. I have five more classes to complete and I will be have my Masters in Finanace. I am starting a non-for profit organization to help young ladies with struggles such as I had, and I am also in the process of begining another business. I was married for 7 years to my children’s fathter however, it ended in divorce. But God is preparing me for my new husband. Remeber you can overcome any thing with the help of God. I just say Keep praying and don’t stop praying. God is good all the time, and all the time God is Good.

no fear

All Faith—-No Fear
by DeAnna Gordon-Jones

Just 3 1/2 weeks ago, I was about to close at my shift as a desk clerk at a hotel, when three men came running in, jumped the counter before I knew what was happening and robbed me. A pistol was put to my head and I was told that I was “going to die” as the assailant pushed me to the floor and started tying my hands, feet and mouth with duct tape. I did not resist in any way, and just before the tape was put over my mouth, I said aloud, “God be with me”…and He was. The men got the money and ran. Five hours later…they robbed another hotel 8o miles south….and killed the desk clerk. I never once felt fear….in fact, I felt a TOTAL peace….maybe even anticipation of meeting Jesus! I am grateful to God for allowing me to live because I know He has plans for me to finish the work He has called me to do on this earth…. Thank you, Lord, that it is You who blesses the righteous man, surrounding him as with a shield. We bless those who curse us and those who oppose us, and ask that you will grant them repentance leading them to knowledge of your truth. God, bless the men who robbed me. Amen

Bless the Lord!

A while back I gave a reflection on a GPS. And God reminded me of it recently, actually a few times, so I just felt led to share it with you all.

We had taken our daughter who is away at college, back to school, and driving on the way home from there, we had to rely on a GPS, which is a navigation system. It gave us detours and guided us home as it was designed to do.

A couple of days later, Minister Jeff and I were going out to eat at a new restaurant and we didn’t quite know the way. And again we relied on this GPS, this NAV system to get us there. And in that God spoke. God said that He is our GPS. He is our Navigator. He leads us and guides and gets us to where we need to go. That we need to rely on Him and His promises. The GPS for us is God’s Promise System.

Anyway, we rely on this NAV system, we put all our trust in it and it doesn’t give us any direction until we actually get to a certain point. And God said we need to trust in Him the same way. We have a route, we know the path that we are on, we set out to go, and then we need to rely on God to give us direction when we get to certain points. We don’t always have to know where to go. God said to just follow His direction and He will tell us where to go when we need to go.

But anyway, as we set out to drive to this restaurant, I sort of jumped ahead of the NAV system and got a little off the path. I told Minister Jeff to turn around from where we were headed, because the NAV system was taking too long to say something. And God spoke again and said, “That is exactly what you do to Me.” God doesn’t move in the time frame we think He should move and we quickly jump ahead of Him. We try to anticipate where He would have us to go and then we end up lost. We go in our own direction instead of waiting to hear a Word from the Lord.

Sometimes it takes a while. We drive two miles, the NAV doesn’t say anything, and we change the route. We do the same thing with God. Go a little while with Him and then when we don’t hear anything, we want to go another way. Then we do that and we end up lost and off the path that God has set for us. But God is good, because just like the NAV system, when you ask for further direction God will direct you back to where you need to be.

So that is what happened. We got a little off the path and had to re-enter where we were so that we could get to where we were going and the NAV system said to us, “as soon as possible, make a legal U-Turn.” Then I heard the Spirit of the Lord say this, when you know that you messed up, as soon as possible, make a legal U-Turn. And He is specific. He said, a legal U-Turn. Don’t go someplace else where He did not tell you to go. Don’t go off in another wrong direction. Don’t go where you THINK you should go. Make a legal U-Turn. It’s okay to get off the path, but get it right and get back on it again.

We have to know that God is good. And He desires to lead us. We trust this NAV system, we trust that our cars will start, we trust that elevators will go up, we trust so many things. But we need to trust in the Lord, even more so. God knows everything. He created everything. All we need to do is follow His lead and direction that we may have and get to whatever He has for us. That is His promise to us. That is God’s Promise System. That’s the real GPS.

And one more thing I should add, when we do we will hear God say to us, just like with the NAV system, “You have arrived.” Well done, my good and faithful servant.
